Nintendo Switch 2 Logo and microSD Express Cards

According to recent leaks, GameStop has already added microSD Express cards to its catalog, designed for the Nintendo Switch 2. These cards will be available in various capacities, ranging from 256GB to a massive 1TB, significantly expanding the storage options for games and data.

In addition, the logo of the console has been shared online. It closely resembles the logo of the previous-generation Nintendo Switch, with the addition of the number "2," indicating the new version. The person who leaked this information claims to have seen a real photo of the device, so we can expect this design to be accurate.

New Features and Enhanced Joy-Con Controllers

Another important piece of news came from the Nintendo Switch 2 prototype displayed at the 2025 CES exhibition by the company Genki. During the presentation, new details about the Joy-Con controllers were revealed. These will now feature an optical sensor, allowing them to function as a mouse, expanding the device's functionality. A similar feature was previously implemented by Lenovo on their Legion Go.

It’s also worth noting that the dock station from the original Switch will not be compatible with the new Switch 2. Additionally, the Joy-Con controllers will not physically fit, though they are expected to work wirelessly.

Presentation and Expectations

Representatives of Genki have announced that the official Nintendo Switch 2 presentation is expected to take place in January 2025. The console is expected to come with many new features and improvements, meeting the needs of both gamers and developers.

Nintendo Switch 2 promises to become one of the most sought-after gaming consoles of the next generation, and Nintendo fans are eagerly awaiting its official release.
