Bungie Announces Marathon - Game Coming September 23

NakMo reports: Bungie has announced Marathon, a new extraction shooter coming September 23, 2025.

The creators of the legendary Halo and Destiny games are back with a new game, Marathon. During a large-scale presentation on April 12 (EUW), Bungie officially announced the release date of the shooter, which will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game will be paid, but the cost will be “noticeably less than $70,” which suggests a price of about $40.

What awaits us in Marathon

Marathon is an extraction shooter with unique elements of customization and teamwork. Key features of the project include:

• Characters with unique abilities and loadout settings. Players will be able to choose weapons, implants, perks and other elements, which will allow them to customize their characters to their own playstyle.
• Squad flexibility. One squad can have up to three copies of the same mercenary, each with a different loadout.

• Inspired by classics of the genre. Marathon draws ideas from popular extraction shooters such as Escape from Tarkov.

Seasonal narrative and story events

In addition to the multiplayer mode, Marathon will include elements of storytelling. Seasonal events and special events promise to add depth and involvement, allowing players to immerse themselves in the rich history of the game world.
