Adobe’s New AI Tool Turns Voice Into Realistic Sound Effects

Adobe has introduced a new AI-powered feature called Generate Sound Effects as part of its Firefly platform. The tool allows users to transform vocal imitations—such as whooshes, bangs, or hums—into realistic sound effects, enhancing video or audio production with natural rhythm and timing.
According to Adobe, the tool supports two input methods:
- Text prompts, like “car crash” or “ocean waves”
- Voice input, where your vocalization defines timing and intensity
“Just enter a simple prompt to create the sound you want,” Adobe explained.
“Want more control? Use your voice to direct the timing and energy. Firefly analyzes your vocal rhythm to place effects with cinematic precision.”
The tool is powered by Project Super Sonic, which was first announced in late 2024. While it can’t generate speech, it excels at recognizing and transforming non-verbal sound imitations.
Currently, Generate Sound Effects is available in beta via the Adobe Firefly website. As of now, the service is not officially accessible in Russia.
This release follows Adobe’s launch of Firefly apps on iOS and Android, continuing the company’s push to democratize AI tools for creatives.
From fake gunshots to sci-fi whooshes, now you can sound like a movie—with just your voice.
