Tesla Unveils Updated Model Y 2025: New Design, Extended Range, and Enhanced Features

Tesla has unveiled the updated 2025 version of its best-selling Model Y. The presentation took place in China, where the new version will be available starting March 2025. The updates include changes to both the exterior and interior design, along with an impressive increase in range, now reaching up to 719 km for the all-wheel-drive version.
Design and Functional Updates
The exterior of the updated Model Y features several changes. The front of the car now includes an LED light strip, similar to the one used in the Cybertruck. The headlights have been moved to the bumper, giving the model a more modern and aggressive look. Additionally, a new camera has been integrated into the front bumper to enhance the autopilot system and parking assistance features.
Interior Changes
Inside, the new Model Y adds several comfort and convenience upgrades. The cabin now features LED ambient lighting and an additional screen for rear-seat passengers. The rear seats have been lengthened by 15 mm, and the headrests are wider by 17 mm, improving comfort during long drives. One of the more convenient updates is the ability to fold down the rear seats from the trunk with the press of a button.
Technical Specifications and Pricing
The 2025 Tesla Model Y will be available in two variants:
- RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive): One motor with 299 hp, 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, range of 593 km. Price – 263,500 yuan (~35.273 $).
- 4WD (All-Wheel Drive): Two motors with a combined power of 450 hp, 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, range of 719 km. Price – 303.500 yuan (~40․628 $).
It’s worth noting that the price of the base version has increased by 5.44%, and the all-wheel-drive version by 4.33%.
Availability of the New Model
The 2025 Tesla Model Y will start deliveries in March 2025, initially in China, Australia, and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The exact release date in Europe and the USA is still unknown.
