Nissan Motor is in talks with Honda Motor about a potential merger that could create the third-largest automaker in the world. This merger would allow both companies to better cope with financial difficulties and increasing competition. If the deal goes through, the combined company will produce 8 million cars annually, ranking just behind Toyota and Volkswagen.
In addition, Taiwanese company Foxconn, known for producing iPhones and investing in electric vehicle manufacturing, is interested in acquiring a stake in Nissan, which has accelerated the merger talks with Honda. A new holding company could be created as part of the deal, potentially including Mitsubishi Motors, of which Nissan already owns 24%.
This merger is expected to have a significant impact on the global automotive market.
