Google has made an important decision for its next-generation Pixel 10 smartphones by replacing Samsung’s modems with a solution from MediaTek. The MediaTek T900 modem, based on the latest MediaTek M85 chipsets and supporting 5G standards according to 3GPP Release 17, will be used in the new models. This solution is expected to enhance performance in terms of energy efficiency and heat dissipation.

While Qualcomm's modem was also considered, the final decision was made in favor of MediaTek. In the long term, the company also plans to develop its own chips, including modems, further reinforcing its goal of independence from major manufacturers.

This decision highlights Google’s efforts to improve its smartphones' performance and strengthens its partnership with MediaTek, which will significantly enhance the user experience.
