Reuters: Qualcomm may buy part of Intel's business
Qualcomm is eyeing Intel's business, Reuters reports, citing industry sources.
We are talking about "various parts" of Intel's business, including its client products. Qualcomm declined to comment on this information, while Intel told Reuters that it is "deeply committed to its business."
It is perfectly clear why such conversations are even possible. Intel has been experiencing financial difficulties lately, cutting staff and canceling dividend payments.
At the same time, the company does not forget to announce new products. In September, Intel introduced the Core Ultra 200V (Lunar Lake) series of processors, and the premiere of the Core Ultra 200K for desktop PCs is expected in October.
Qualcomm, in turn, is increasingly interested in the market for computer processors. This year, the company's range included Snapdragon X chips for Windows laptops. Buying part of Intel's business could help the company move faster in a new market for it.
