Apple: The button on the bottom of the Mac mini (2024) is normal

Apple Senior Vice Presidents Greg Joswiak and John Ternus explained why the power button on the new Mac mini with M4 was placed on the bottom of the case.

One of the reasons is the smaller case of the computer. The Mac mini (2024) is much smaller than its predecessor. So they had to think about where to put the button. In the end, they chose the bottom - this is the "optimal option".

Top managers also say that owners of the new Mac mini are unlikely to have to use the power button often, since most prefer not to turn off the computer, but to put it into sleep mode. This is another reason why the button was installed in this place.
