Venom: The Last Dance — The Final Part of the Trilogy with Tom Hardy: Weak Reviews but Strong Box Office
Venom: The Last Dance, the film that concludes the adventures of Eddie Brock and his symbiote Venom, is now available in digital format. The movie continues the story where Eddie and Venom have learned to coexist and fight villains together. However, in the third installment, they are hunted not only by the military but also by Venom’s alien relatives, who threaten all life on Earth.
Tom Hardy returns in the lead role, once again portraying Eddie Brock. He also co-wrote the script alongside Kelly Marcel, who directed the film. Besides Hardy, the movie stars Rhys Ifans, Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Stephen Graham.
Despite the star-studded cast and the much-anticipated conclusion to the trilogy, Venom: The Last Dance did not receive high marks from critics or audiences. The film earned just 41% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, 41 points on Metacritic, and a 6.2/10 rating on IMDb.
Nevertheless, despite the weak reviews, the film performed well financially. It grossed $472 million against a budget of $120 million, although the first two installments of the franchise earned more. This suggests that fans continue to support the stories of Venom and Eddie, despite the mixed feedback.
